Herpes possibly? or something else?

by mastrehand, May 01, 2008 06:14PM
Last time I had sex with someone was in early December. Immediately after I had sex with her I had this itch all over my scrotum. It has been like this for almost a little more than 5 months now. I read that some of people have a first outbreak within a couple of weeks.
I had nothing visible for about four months, just an itch. Until about a month ago I got this wart on the skin above my scrotum it was there for a week and now its gone. Maybe that was just nothing. It went way and disappeared. It think I had gotten one there before I had sex. That was the first time I had sex in my life. I didnt want to continue having sex with this woman beacuse of that itch I lost contact with her.

And about three weeks ago I noticed a cluster (pictured sorry for bad photo) that looks like the ones in the herpes photos. It is under my penis not on the head but next to the the little skin where it looks stitched. They are VERY tiny about 10 tiny bumps and hard to see if my penis is not dry. The place where they are at is not very reddish. They've been there unchanged for these past three weeks weeks.

About a week ago I went to the doctor for a general checkup I only told him that I had a itch all over my groin area he gave it a wince not even a close look and said it was a fungus and prescribed me cromatizole for the jock itch. I also paid for a blood and urine test nothing STD specific). I went today and the blood and urine analysis all came up as me healthy.

I've used the cream for two weeks now and I haven't gotten any better the itch has gotten worse actually. But Ive been told that fungus takes a while to heal. Also I've noticed a really fishy smell. that's been there for like 2 months. I also have a recurring itch under my belly button and under my right nipple, also It sometimes gets around my anus or on my butt cheek also on my thigh one one little spot only. But the main itch/burn is around the base of the of the penis in my scrotum. Sometimes my penis head itches too where that cluster is.

Hmm what else.. Also my Left testicle was hurting for about a week a week ago It's gone now.

What do you think? And since i dont think the tests I took screen for any of that it was a general blood test they said everything they saw was fine except for a little cholesterol. How much do you think a real herpes/hiv/std test will cost me?(I'm in Los Angeles if that helps)  Also Is that tiny little cluster really supposed to be there that long? Or do you guys think it's something else and it is just a fungal infection and I'm just normally scared. Might it be a yeast infection? keep in mind that Ive had the itch for a long time.

Sorry for the long read but I tried to describe anything I could.

Hi there -

I can't tell you what this is.  It doesn't sound like herpes, and it could be fungal.

Another member here gave me some info about the lesbian and gay clinic in LA, but I have no idea if you have to be lesbian or gay to go.

Here is exactly what he told me -

if you live in the LA area feel lucky to have a place like the LA gay & lesbian center (i went to the one on scrader in hollywood, there's another one on san vicente in weho) as it was walk-in, the whole thing took about 1.5 hours, it's completely free and confidential, really great people, and i got a lot of peace of mind.

You might also google std clinics LA and see what you find.  I know there are a ton.
