Prosatitis pain?

I am a 33 year old male. Around 7 weeks ago I started to notice extreme irritation on the tip of my penis. I then started to get a burning sensation in the head of my penis, not when urinating but coming and going throughout the day.

I then got checked for all STDs and tested positive for Genital Herpes. My primary doctor assumed the pain was from herpes and gave me aclyclovir for 2 weeks.

After 11 days the pain and discomfort did not stop at all. I then went to a Urologist who said he really doesnt know what I have but it could be urethritis or prostatitis and gave me Cipro for 2 weeks and Amox Clav for 10 days.

After 10 days the pain still did not go away. I went to a different Urologist. He said it definitely wasn't Herpes related and gave me a prostate exam. While touching my prostate i noticed the burning sensation slowly creeping into the head of my penis so he told me I have non-bacterial prostatitis.

He was concerned why the Cipro and Amox Clav didn't work and gave me Levaquin for 10 days. It's been 3 days and I don't feel any better and I'm really worried.

I've always had back pain, but about a week ago I noticed my back pain was intensifying and I was starting to get these weird aches and cramps in my knees, thighs, hamstrings and even my feet.

I am sitting 10 hours a day. The cramps and back pain have gotten alot worse the past few days. Today it was bad.

I don't know if any of this is herpes, prostatitis, or just horrible seating and posture at my new job which I've had for 6 weeks. All of this started at the same time I started this new job. I've been under tons of stress at work and not sure if it caused or amplified any of this. Please help extremely worried.

While on Cipro  I smoked marijuana everyday and drank coffee. I also may have taken some Tums, now I'm worried that made it less effective? Since on the Levaquin Ive only had a  bit of Decaf and havent smoked pot  but still feel the symptoms.

You obviously do not have a straight forward situation, or else you would have had one diagnosis and treatment and be all better by now.
Let's look at some basics. What makes the back pain and the other pains better or worse? If movement/position has an effect, then I would look to a muscle-joint cause for your symptoms. Is your discomfort worse when you are at work? Are things better when you are relaxed? Anxiety can be a cause for what has been termed "non-bacterial prostatitis."  I would suggest doing what you can to reduce your stress and asking one of your family physician to prescribe a mild sedative such as Librium 10 mg. every 6 hours as needed.
Your herpes test showed that you had been exposed to the herpes virus. Your symptoms are not that of an acute prostatitis, herpes or for that matter, any STD of which I am familiar. Your marijuana,Tums and coffee would not have had a negative effect on your symptoms.

Doctor I've read up on my symptoms being very similiar CFS which can stem from CPPS I've read.

Tiredness, sore throat, pain and aching in muscles, joint pain, mild headaches here and there.

I'm really worried about this.

I am not refuting the doctor in any way but I had the same thing and want to tell you that prostatitis is depressing and scary but can be handled.  You need to find the right doc.  In my case I had a long airline flight 24 hours from africa and I was sitting in a  bad postion had to urinate a lot etc.  I had all of the same symptoms you did and was tested for everything under the sun oh and by the way I have Herpes as well.  I did not catch if you have HSV1 or HSV2  HSV1 is typically the oral strain but can be caught in the genitals and is responsible for 30% of genital herpes cases.  The tricky part about herpes is the blood test IGG will tell you have had an exposure not where so you need to be on the lookout for water blisters generally small and to one side of center of the anatomy, that are mildly painful they eventually within a week or so scab over and disappear without scarring.  In 90% of cases when a person has HSV1 genitally they have an initial outbreak and then none.  I would say if you have had no oral sex encounters in the last 90 days and do not have signs like the ones I speak of you likely have oral herpes in the mouth which also in many cases is asymptomatic and thereby show no symptoms symptomatic cases would yield a fever blister in the outer lip nostril or around the mouth but generally on the lips.  You can get this Virus very easily especially when young as your immune system is not developed sufficiently to fight it off.  In most cases it is something a person gets as a child from a classmate or relative giving a simple kiss hello.  Much of the population has it over 65% so it is nothing to be scare of or ashamed or depressed about.

Back to prostatitis.  I was terrified took a battery of tests for every sexually transmitted disease and nothing.  I had pain urinating as well and my original doctor put me on flowmax for two weeks.  I had my urethra swabbed for HSV and as a precaution took Valtrex for two weeks until i found out I had no HSV on the swab. I changed docs and the doctor I moved to did the same yours did a digital exam.  In the exam I had the same reaction the pain seemed to push forward when the prostate was examined almost all moved to the head of my penis.  The doctor told me I also had prostatitits and gave me 2 weeks of Bactrim.  They use Bactrim because it is a broad spectrum antibiotic meaning it is effective against many of the offending agents that could cause prostatitis.  Otherwise they have to do an expensive and time consuming fluid analysis to determine a cause and treatment. I took the two weeks and felt slightly better.  The doctor told me he wanted to jump start my treatment and gave me 80 mg of genamycin and 250 mg of Rosefin intramuscular shots.  The pain got worse for a few days but then much better so my guess is the antibiotic went right at it. (my *** hurt too from the shots lol)  I then was prescribed four more weeks of bactrim. I progressively got better and came back two weeks later when i got another shot of genamycin same dose and 1000 mg of rosefin.  I  finshed my antibiotic and I am mostly better in fact I would say totally better.  Caution prostatitis returns in 40% of cases so you might want to write down somewhere what you are feeling so you can look back at it should you ever experience this pain again.  One  more thing this took five months and two doctors and a ton of patience to get through.  make sure when you are peeing you milk your penis to get all urine out and do same when ejaculating.  You need the right doctor I found mine online he wrote an article on the topic and I called the next day and made an appointment.  I know what you are going through and can only tell you with the right treatment you will be you again soon. One last thing Flomax made me dizzy i was given an alternative called uroxatol which made me feel as if I drank a bottle of tequila.  These things are given to you to help with your symptoms not as part of your treatment so if you have the side effects like I did toss the meds like I did.  Be well.
