lesions but not herpes...??

In fall of 2003, after learning my bf had been unfaithful, I developed painful sores in the vaginal area that were diagnosed (by sight only) as genital herpes. I sought a second opinion a year later and a blood test was negative for all types of HSV (herpes).

My current relationship has been monogamous for over 2 years. I have no worries on that count.

However, this week I developed a sore very similar to those I had 5 years ago, inside the labia, on the next "section" (uncertain of anatomical term). It's about the size of my pinky fingernail and oblong, red-rimmed, and kind of whitish in the middle.

Too late tonight to call the doctor, but I'd like to have some kind of suggestion of what it could be before I do tomorrow... any ideas?

It might be a new herpes infection, or you had innaccurate testing done before, or an allergic reaction to something, dermatitis, etc.

I'm sorry - there's just no way to narrow it down.

Have them culture and type it for herpes, though.

AJ is right. It could be herpes. Get to the doctor or a clinic quickly to have it cultured. Also have a Type Specific Herpes test like HerpesSelect while you are there.
