Stork Radio Doppler Rental

I know that some of you have rented a doppler from Stork Radio.....at least I have heard it mentioned in the forum....If there's anyone out there who has, did you have to get a Rx from your office?  DH went through all of the ordering, gave our debit card number, etc.  Now the confirmation that was emailed to me says that due to FDA regulations, they need a signed Rx from my provider or there can be up to a $16,000 fine!   What the heck is that all about?

When you actully recieve your doppler in the mail you will have some paperwork in the box, instructions, contract, and a paper for your doctor to sign.  All it is, is something stating that you ARE pregnant and not using it for your own practice or something.  All you have to do is get your doc to sign it and fax or mail it back to them.

wow I rented and then bought a doppler from stork radio I think in december or jan. or somewhere around there and I didn't have to go through anything or sign anything. They must have just changed that! How weird! Which one did you rent?

I rented mine from fetaldoppler.com.I had no paperwork to give to the doctor.

Not sure Chantal, I got my order confirmation via email and attached to the email was the paperwork that I need signed....weird.....I guess I'll just see if it shows up and if not I'll call them!

Yea that is strange...hmmm...must just be a new policy or something.

I also just rented a doppler a few days ago from heartones.com. I did not see anything about needing a doctor's confirmation or about fines and such. I should be receiving the doppler on Monday. I can't wait!

We'll see if mine arrives tomorrow...DH is a freak and paid extra for Sat. delivery...never got a delivery confirmation though, so I'm not sure if they are waiting for the paperwork??  If they are I'll cancel and order from heartones.....I don't have the time or patience to try and explain it to my OB...
