I would think an MRI would give you all the information you need as that seems to be the LAST test they give everyone.  I've had SEVERAL Ultra sounds and one CT.  I went for my yearly in Oct with my regular GYN and he sent me home with my problems for another year.  Said if they continued they'd have to do something.  My family doctor wasn't happy with what was going on she's the type to get to the bottom of things.  She sent me to a GYN Oncologist after finding my last US showed a solid mass the size of a tangerine with complex cysts and fibroids with my uterus wall thickening as well.  I've been monitored since 2006 and things haven't gotten better but worse.  I just went for my complete hyster they even took my cervix on April 18th.  I'm VERY BLESSED, because many women go in and only get some stuff taken out only to go back for ANOTHER surgery years later for the rest.  My surgeon did it all, because all my parts were involved.

My suggestion is see another doctor for another opinion and keep us posted.

Best Wishes to you.  Sharon :)

I agree with Sharon... time to get a second opinion.

I had a dermoid cyst, some fibroids and a teratoma on my right ovary.  Because I am 46 and past child bearing years, they did a abd. hyst & ooph, and took my cervix for good measure.

Although I may have to use HRT, I am grateful they took everything, because I don't want any future problems.

So far, I am 4 weeks post op and doing fine.  I start working again next week, and don't have many symptoms of menapause (no night sweats, hot flashes etc).  I did get moody for a bit, but I think it was just the trauma of surgery.

Good luck, keep us posted!

Yep, I agree with the others, get a second opinion. I also had the cysts but only in my uterous. I chose to have everything removed because I did not want to take any chance of something going bad in the future. It was the best thing I have ever done. Not only do I feel it has been good for me physically, but it settled my mind as well. Once you are completely satisfied that you have all the information you need, I think you will be able to decide what is best for you.
