Acute Tactile pleasure

I have a problem, and I find it kind of strange.  For the past few years, I have had an odd affinity towards certain materials, especially towards denim but also to khaki and most other materials pants are made out of.  I love the way it feels to my hands, and can sit and rub my pant leg for hours (sometimes I don't realize I'm doing it).  I don't touch others this way (that would be a whole other issue) nor do I have a desire to ever do so.  It must look very strange to others, and it feels strange to me.  I feel utterly lost to this.  I tried wearing a rubber band around my wrist and snapping it every time I got an urge to stroke my pants, but this didn't work.  I just would snap it all day long and still touch my pants.  It's not sexual...i'm not aroused by the feeling or anything...it just is a happy and calm feeling I get when doing so.  I think I had a denim towel or something as a child, which may have been a safety blanket for me or something, but now in my mid 20's its a little strange to still have those urges.  I need to kick this habit, any suggestions?
