Unexpected Semen Changes after Prostate Biopsy

by wonderer417, May 03, 2008 12:18PM
I had a prostate biopsy about five weeks ago. In addition to expected changes in the color of my semen (it has progressed from deep cherry red to dark chocolate to light translucent brown) I found changes that my doctor did not prepare me for. The characteristic semen odor that was present since puberty is now gone completely. Also, as the red and brown coloration has diminished it looks like the semen will end up being almost clear rather than milky-white and watery rather than creamy. Is this the usual progression back to normalcy or is something possibly wrong here? Should I see my doctor about this? Any information would be appreciated.

Just a P.S. to my original posting:

the biopsy result was negative for cancer, prostate size is normal, PSA is only a little above normal for my age (58). Doctor's instructions after seeing the biopsy results were simply to check back with him in a year.
