what causes low blood pressure

My blood pressure recently dropped to 80/50 and I've started having arm and leg muscle fatigue and pain.  What could cause this?  IS blood pressure this low dangerous?

Normal BP ranges from 90/60 to 120/80, so you are just slightly under average.  I was told by my doctor that BP that is low like yours is only really dangerous to the individual if it has suddenly dropped that low.  What was it before hand?  Mine recently has also dropped from about 110/70 to 90/60, but I used to smoke a lot before I got pregnant.  I do have dizzy spells so I take sodium whenever I feel dizzy.  It is kind of odd that you mention the arm/leg fatigue because pretty much since I have delivered my son in August 2006 I have been experiencing arm/leg symptoms also.  That is also when my BP went down to 90/60 on a consistent basis.  Is your BP the same in both arms?  I went to my Gyne yesterday for my yearly and my BP was 88/60 in my left arm (painful one), but I just remembered when I was at my PCP about a week ago it was 138/82 in my right arm.  Hmmm, your question has me wondering now.  

Back to your question, I guess it depends on what your BP was beforehand and what type of symptoms you are having.  Let me know, like I said I have kind of dealt with this before.

my bloodpressure since my oldest was born 16 1/2 years ago went from 120/80 to 85/50
I have no sypmtoms at all. if you have symtpoms like fainting then I would be checked out
