CSF Leak

by tatonka08, May 03, 2008 04:57PM
My questions is: Could my husband have a possible CSF leak again after his surgery? The Dr. went in for what was to be a discectomy of the L5-S1 and found that he had a small tear in his spinal cord. Everything was going great until his pain management Dr. did a exam and ran a closed fist down the incision 3wks post op. Since then he has been experiencing what he states is  all of his joints feel like they are on fire. I am worried that the pain medications  he is currently taking are masking what could be a possible CSF leak or worse. He has had a recent MRI and was told that they did not see anything. What could be causing these symptoms that he is having? He has been tested for every disease for example (MS,Parkinsons,Lupus,Rheumatoid) We are clueless at this point and don't know which way to go. This injury stems from a helicopter accident around 15 years ago. Please help!!!!
