Why Can't I Breathe On the Right Side of My Body?

by twill4852, May 03, 2008 08:42PM
I've had a case of sinusitis off and on for the past couple of years since my nose was broken in 2003. I do believe though that due to that injury I have a deviated septum; I can visibly tell the difference between the right and left side of my nose when I look up into it. My inferior turbinates have stayed swollen off and on since then as well; especially on the left side of my nose where the nasal passage is larger. I just recently gotten over a bout of strep a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been having difficulty taking a full deep breath on the right side of my chest. That has also been accompanied by muscle tightness in my back on the right side. My right nasal passage stays blocked, and there also feels as if there's some sort of blockage on the same side of my throat. It feels as if I can't feel any air passing thru either entrance on the right side; either nasal or down my trachea. I've been to my doctor twice, and to the ER once. All chest x-rays and blood work come back clear with no signs of infection. I have no cough, fever, phlegm or sputum, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nasal discharge, or any other signs of an infection or illness. What could be the cause of my difficult breathing and nasal blockage?
