Hello!!   I stopped breastfeeding 5 weeks after my daughter was born. She is now 2 months and I am yet to start my period, how long can it take to start, and are you more fertile before your first mensuration? Thank you for your time!!!

it can take a while before you get your peroid, but you can be fertile before it comes so take some pre cautions unless you want to end up pregnant again

I don't recall exactly how long it took, but I do believe that it would be coming soon.  If it ends up being a while, I would call the doctor - my OB didn't want it to be too long as that build up can start to get harmful she said.  Good luck!

Congrats on baby!  I nursed my first son about 3 months and got mt period around 10 weeks if I remember right.  I nursed less with my second son and got it around 9 weeks.  Some gals can go months before getting their period, and yes, you probably will ovulate before getting your period.  My niece got here that way!  If you are concerned call your Dr., but I think you sound fine.

I stopped nursing my son around 41/2 months and it took 2-3 months after that for my period to start back up.
