Toilet Habit

Hello,

I have a 3 year old daughter. INspite of our repeated attempts to get her to sit and try to go motion she doesn't follow that. She is comfortable doing it in a standing posture. Also, she doesn't tell us about her bowel movement and invariably we notice it after she has had her movement. My questions are?

1. How to train her to go to Toilet basin?
2. Why is she reluctant to sit and pass motion whereas she is very confortable urinating in a seated posture...(squat posture)
3. Does this mean she has some problem and hence she is comfortable passing motion in a standing posture?

Regards,
Sridhar

Try to be patient and supportive. Many three-year-olds have not mastered toilet training. Keep intorducing her to the potty, schedule times for sitting on the potty, and reward her when she is successful. If you worry about any medical problems, arrange to have her examined by her pediatrician, though it does not sound like there is a medical problem
