HIV testing stats

by icegrill, May 04, 2008 03:00PM
I've read here that Dr. H said that a HIV test at 6 weeks from possible exposure is 99% conclusive. Also, I read a couple times from neel333 state the following stats:

4 week 95% (Almost all positive people get tested +ve between 2-3 week)
6 week 99%
12 week 100%

Would it make a difference on the type of test taken? I just had a rapid test (the needle stick) which came out negative. As for the numbers neel333 stated, how accurate are these numbers?

12 week is not 100%, check reliable websites.

3 month is 12/13 weeks depending on where you live is conclusive.

Does it matter on the type of test taken?
