Brachial Neuritis - 3 years later

by DKP55, May 04, 2008 09:29PM
Over 3 years ago I was diagnosed with brachial neuritis.  Since then I have had 1 flair up about 18 months ago.  I am still experiencing non-stop pain up to being unable to sleep at night.  I've been taking Advil to minimize the pain and am on 900mg neurontin a day.  Any suggestions on how to either manage or eliminate the pain?

Hello dear,
In brachial neuritis, physical therapy can be  done to maintain full range of motion in the shoulder . Passive range of motion  and active range of motion  exercises and strengthening of the rotator cuff muscles and scapular stabilization can be helpful. Passive modalities (eg, heat, cold, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation may help in relieving the pain. You should also consult a occupational therapist.
You can continue your medication along with the exercises.
