Baby nasal drip

My son is 8 months old and he has problems breathing through his nose. He always sounds like he is snoring and often vomits on his mucus. His nose is irritated and the mucus is very far back and I can't get it out with a nasal aspirator. What can I do to clear his nose? I have him on soy formula and do not give him any dairy. HELP!
