annoying music in head that won't go away

Does anyone else out there with OCD have tunes in your head that start either by a real song and then morph into a
scattered tune. These can start to the beat of the turn signal in the car, or any other external beat? Any stress makes them worst and they annoy the hell out of you and they won't go away. How common is this? and how do you deal with this?

It used to happen quite frequently, when a situation arose I would find a song to fit the situation and sing it under my breath.  I turned it around to be something helpful instead of stressful.  Eventually , it got less and less....
