Bruise affect eye?

I recently got knocked just above the eye, and it left a big welt almost. there is a bump thats pretty big and no sighns of it getting smaller. it hurts to close my eye and open it wide. Im worried if it might affect my vision. Is there something i can do to stop the swelling before it affects my whole eye?
