severe diaphragm or esophagus pain

by Cindym75, May 05, 2008 12:24PM
I have had 4 episodes of severe pain at the center of my rib cage.  In all incidences I have had diahhrea a few hours earlier, then I get the pain that starts gradually, and gets severe, and kind of like contractions.  I can't lay down, and just try to do controlled breathing to get through it. Generally lasts a few hours.  I have had my heart checked, upper GI, colonoscopy, ultrasound, and nothing has shown up. I do not have my gall bladder, or I may think that is the problem. With the last two episodes, I have taken a Vicodin and just gone to sleep. It is gone when I wake up and I generally feel fine, except sore where I had tried rubbing the pain. Thanks.

This discussion is related to diaphragm spasm.

Pain is under the breastbone or on the right (or left) side of the rib cage? Would you say you have a heartburn, or acid comming into your mouth when you lay down?
