Help with Oxy detox

by trixieroo, May 05, 2008 03:37PM
I have been snorting abot 1 - 2 80 mg oxycontins a day for 2 weeks now.  I was hooked on this stuff BAD about 10 years ago but it was prescribed.  This time, I just don't know what happened.  I never snorted anything in my ife until 2 weeks ago so I don't know whay made me turn the corner.

Anyway, I was on oxycontin for months the last time I realized I was abusing it and that I needed to stop.  It was the most God awful thing I have ever done in my life and I swore I would never do it again, well, here I am.

Will it be that bad considering the amount I am doing and that it has only been two weeks?  I keep doing it evrery day because I am afraid of the withdrawals to stop.

Any kind of therapy inpatient or out is not an option for me right now.  Long story.  What can I get to help with this detox?  I have a little to help cut down for a few days, but should I snort it like I was doing or should I switch to oral.  ANY help fast would be so appreciated!!!!.  Thanks,
Trixieroo

There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that "snorting" falls to behavior, and if you are exhibiting that behavior, then there is a problem that needs to be resolved. The good news is that you have not been doing it long. Therefore, the detox will be short. But you will need to get to the root of why you started again? Was there a tramatic experience recently that prompted this? Anything you can think of? It did not just happen, so that says that something happened to make you want to repeat this behavior again. You can go to outpatient treatment which would include counseling to get to the root of the problem and I always suggest going to NA/AA. What do you think? I hope you get the help you need. GL.
