Does toothpaste really work for acne?

by happyspazz, May 05, 2008 08:42PM
My mother always said that toothpaste dries out the zit, and eventually it would fit, but i'm not so sure that I want my nose to smell minty fresh. Does this actually work, or is it a myth that people made up?

This is not a useful treatment for acne. The whitening agents in the toothpaste will irritate and discolor your skin.
Use a topical lotion which contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to dry up spots. I like ByeByeBlemish drying lotion. Loiloi x

In an emergency, if you don't have any spot cream use TCP, savlon or Sudocrem. Toothpaste is not a helpful remedy for acne. Invest in a bottle of ByeByeBlemish drying lotion. It's not expensive and lasts for ages.

Woah. I tried the toothpaste thing on my back once.

I put the toothpaste on a band aid and left it on overnight. Not a good idea!
