my doctor has diaognosed my condition as thyroid nodules.I'm on 88 mgs of synthyroid(levothro)
I'm also on 5 mgs of cumadin for heterozygous Protein S Deficiency .The nodules are not shrinking ,I have them inside and outside of both thyroid glands .It has been suggested I have the glands (both) removed. They won't do a biopsey because I may over bleed. The thyroid pills are not working what can I expect with this condition Are these nodules also called goiters . What can be done to help

FNA biopsy on coumadin is usually very safe if a small gauge needle (25 or 27) is used -- would recommend biopsy before surgery unless there are significant compressive symptoms due to the nodules.

Goiter is enlarged thyroid -- you have a multinodular goiter (ie, enlargement due to multiple nodules).
