small bilateral cysts

by winddancer44, May 06, 2008 04:58PM
My Friend is 27 and is still wanting kids.  She had some pre-cancerous cells found in her uterus (level 4&5) that were taken out by LEEP procedure a couple of months ago. They found that they had not gotten all the cells and did a quite invasive biopsy.  At her check up the doctor said they had gotten all the cells.  At that time she had abdominal pain and asked for a ultrasound, but was told it was unnecessary.  She has had severe pain behind her belly button, cramping & abnormally short and off-cycle periods, back pain, nausea, diarrhea, and a high tolerance for pain.  she finally went to the emergency room they reffered her to get an ultrasound and it came back that she had two small bilateral cysts one in each tube. One is less than 1.5 cm the other about 1 cm.  She does have family history from her mother of cancer. Previous doctor of no use.  Would need to get new, or should these cysts be taken care of by her body?

cysts can be very painful, even small ones,  please go read the post about cysts and the symptons  on the health pages, you can find them listed  to the right of this forum.  did they ask her to repeat the TVUS  in about 6 weeks?, with a history of  cancer she will need to get some good answers. A second opinion is always a good idea when there is doubt.  OVCA is rare and 95% of all cysts are benign,  most are not removed unless they are 5 cm or larger. If this were me I would follow up until I got to the bottom of the pain.  Pain is never normal.   Marty
