AMH results

I am 40 years old and my husband and I have been TTC for over 4 years.  I have gotten pregnant 3 times all ending is miscarrage in the first 8 weeks.  Recently I went to an RE and she did many tests one of which was AMH, she called me today and said the results were 0.7 and that she wouldn't ever recommend IVF that we needed to go directly to IVF with egg donors.  I am very surprised because everything else was absolutely fine (FSH & HSG) and I definately ovulate and respond well to Clomid.  From what I understand about this test women with low results on this test don't respond to fetility medications, am I wrong?
