Results of Stress Test, See Cardiologist now.

by fluffypurrcat, May 06, 2008 09:58PM
Hi,  I posted a question here about a week ago after a cardiolyte stress test. I  saw the dr. today, and she told me my test was abnormal. It appears that I did indeed have a heart attack last month, as I thought I may have. My stress test showed what is called a reverse perfusion defect which the dr. explained means that I apper to have had an recent infarction, that can occur esp. after a revascularaization or thrombolytic theapy. My dr. is now referring me to a cardiologist.

I was releived in a way to know that what I experienced was indeed a heart attack, and that it was not just in my mind or a panic attack, but now I am scared and not knowing what to expect next. I am glad that I have nitro if needed, but I hope I don[t have another attack before I can see the cardiologist and get more tests. Does anyone have any words of advice on what to expect or what they may do next ? I can explain the kind of test the dr. told me she thought the cardiologist would do. I am plain scared now.                                         fluffypurrcat
