My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed in November 2007 with Hashimoto's and has been on Synthroid 75 MCG since then. She has also had a major change in behavior since December after being on the Synthroid to include extreme temper tantrums that will go on for aprox 2 hours and also no longer is a straight A student. She now struggles just to get the work completed. Not the perfectionist she always tried to be. Along with all of the above noted, she has had 2 sets of labs done over the past 6 weeks and they both have come back with elevated LDH levels. Her family practice Dr. had ordered the liver enzymes to be complted but the lab failed to follow through with sending them out and we do not have anymore insight as to what is causing the elevated LDH levels. My question is, has anyone has any of the same symptoms? Is this common for the behavior and the elevated LDH levels? She has not ever seen an ecdocrinoligist as we are military and stationed on a remote shoebox sized island in the Far East.
