Flap Revision

by Scooterdink, May 07, 2008 10:49AM
In March, 2006 I had flap surgery to cover a wound from a compound fracture of the tibi and fibula that had become infected.  The flap involved skin graft, vein transfer, and muscle relocation.  As a result I have a large hump on my lower leg.  What are the chances that this flap can be revised and contoured so that it becomes flatter?

Now that your wound is completely healed and mature without infection, the area can be re-sculptured to improve its appearance.  Your surgeon can advise you about the degree of success and the potential complications in doing this procedure.
