Please help me :(

by macbeck, May 07, 2008 02:32PM
I have an appointment to see a doctor on the 19th of May. I went last September and was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder/Depression and basically just stress, by a Nurse Practitioner.

I went in with a long list of what was wrong with me, and they are still wrong with me even after being prescribed Lexapro, which I've been taking since September. My anxiety has lessened, so it did help, but it didn't stop the other problems like she may have thought.

I have constant diarrhea, almost every single time I eat, usually right after I eat. I'm pretty sure I'm lactose intolerant, so I've switched to Soy milk, but I still eat cheese in small quantities, and it'll give me heartburn.

I am constantly dizzy. lightheaded, sick...
I have a headache every single day at about lunchtime. Every now and then it turns into a migraine that I can not sleep off anymore.

I'm constantly tired, fatigued, weak, unmotivated, exhausted... I sleep so much, I nap almost every day, I go to bed early, and can barely wake up for work at 7am. I sometimes wake up with a headache.

Also, my jaw locks, pops, every single morning on the left side. I read that's a symptom of fibromyalgia.

I know it sounds like depression, but I'm on medication which is working great, and I feel emotionally okay, I'm happy. But I feel like I am physically falling apart. There's probably more than I'm forgetting.

When I was first diagnosed with depression/anxiety I suffered for a year straight with many of your symptoms and some others. And most of the time the symptoms were constant. No matter how many doctor's or tests I had done, all came back normal. Well there were some things, like migranes diagnosed. I don't know what it is exactly about depression and anxiety, but it does make you feel some crazy things and also makes you think you're going crazy. :) Have you tried talking to a therapist? For me, it really helped talking to someone who was experiencing the same things. Kind of made you feel like you weren't alone. If you want to talk more, I'd be happy to. Feel better and try not to worry. :)

You said you are lactose intolerent I am too and had many of the same issues.   I also have Irritable bowel syndrom which is triggered by lactose, raw vegstables and white rice.   You may have many of the other system becasue your feel bad becasue your body is not processing food properly.  I had been to the head gastrointestinal guys at to hospitals.  I had every test under the sun inside and out, upside and down.  I  went down to under 100 lbs.  They all patted me on the head and told me it was in my mind and I needed to relax.  An acupuncturist cured me. She had me strip my diet for several weeks and gave me acupuncture treatments.  She had me eat only cooked chick (I got from the supermarket) and rice (thats when we figured out rice did not work for me).  I could only drink water.  I didn't feel comfortable doing herbel supplements so we skipped all of them but chewable papya extract.  Once  I stabalized we slowely foods back in noting which once set my problems off.

I remember one day going out to dinner with my husband and actuallly being able to eat a meal and not feel sick for the rest of the day.  It was amazing.

If you think you are lactose intolerent stop eating anything that has milk in it.  Cheese, ice cream, pizza.  I am also sensative to soy products they make me sick to.   Stip your diet down (no cheating) and see what happens.

My problem may not be your problem but its a better answer to your symptomology then  depression.   Good luck!

It may be that your varied symptoms come from more than one cause, and won't seem to make sense if looking for a single cause. I'd just like to point out that some of your symptoms could indicate a sleep disorder (morning headaches, depression, anxiety, daytime sleepiness, tired, unmotivated). Long term sleep issues can cause the body and mind to break down in so many ways. A sleep study could tell you for sure if that applys to you.

Your popping jaw could be TMJ. Do any of your meds mention diarrhea as a side effect?
