hard knot

after my laprascopic surgery on Apr 22 for a dermoid cyst, I have a hard knot about 2 inches long near my navel incision. I finished a weeks worth of Keflex antibiotic and it is not bright red anymore but still a hard knot. Other 3 incisions look great. Anyone have this? What is under the skin? the surgery was  2 weeks ago and still this hard knot, Im concerned.

ME TOO! I was just about to post about this. I had a laparatomy on 4-30. I had a 9cm endometrioma.  What is the deal? One of my friends scared me by saying that I might have an incisional hernia. I go back to the doctor on Friday.  Any one able to give insight.

It is normal to have a know under your incisions.  As long as it is not *****, red, or hurting, then I would just ask the doctor about it when you go back for your recheck.  If you are concerned, call your doctor.  They usually have after hour doctors that can answer your question.  Don't feel bad about calling after hours.  That is what they are paid for.  I hope things get better soon.  Keep in mind that your body is still healing on the inside.  You may be feeling better, but your body is still healing.  Take it easy and get lots of rest.  Just thought that it could be scar tissue developing too.
