HCG LEVELS 71000 BUT NO HEARTBEAT

by Juanita0901, May 08, 2008 03:02AM
I suspect that I am around 6 weeks pregnant, as I am not sure of my LMP.  I went for my ultrasound yesterday, the doctor could see the fetus and the yolk, but there was no heartbeat.  He send me for bloodtests and the HCG results of yesterday's bloodtest was 71000.  I must go for follow up bloodtests tomorrow morning.  Should I be worried that there was no heartbeat?

Here is a link with information on where HCG levels should be during the course of your pregnancy.

http://www.justmommies.com/articles/hcg-levels.shtml

It would seem to me that you are farther along than you think, with your levels as high as they are, or are carrying multiples.  It is sometimes difficult to detect fetal heartbeat early on, if you are on target with your estimate of 6 weeks.

They will be testing again next to determine if your HCG levels increase or decrease.  In the event they increase, your pregnancy will continue.  In the event they decrease, it concludes that your pregnancy will end in miscarriage.

I wish the best of luck to you.  I'll keep you in my prayers.  Keep me posted as to your progress.

they told me at the begining of my pregnancy that there is no hb detected when I was 6 weeks according to my blood test. Well we waited another week or two and we finally got the HB and I anm now 32 weeks! my HCG was so high but I was only 3 or 4 weeks according to LMP. so hang in there and I wish you the best of luck.
