My son needs help!

by kjsmoma, May 08, 2008 04:04AM
My son is 11 years old. Until 3 months ago he was a happy healthy, energetic child. Now he is miserable he hasnt been in school for almost 2 months! I have seen dr afater dr, and none seem to be able to help us. He complains of horrible tummy aches, they are in the upper abd, right above the pancreas, and liver. He gets dizzy, headaches, irritability, fatigue, he is just miserable. On a side note, he did have his gallbladder removed when he was 8. He had 2 stones. We just saw a neurologist, and he thinks it might be basilar or abdominal migranes. he has had a cat scan, (head and abdomen)ultrasound, upper GI, and numerous blood tests. The cat scan showed a little fatty infultraion in his liver, but nothing else has come up. Everything else is fine. He is in pain every min. of every day. He has always been a very slim child. 3 months ago he weighed 63 pounds, and was in 10% for weight, and 50% for height. yesterday he weighed 77 pounds!!! that puts him in the 50% for weight. the dr is not concerened.  It kills me every day to see him just sitting in a chair. He doesnt want to play or move. it is breaking my heart. I need to be able to help him. We have tried, levsin, motrin, tylenol, Tylenol 2, bental, tums, rolaids, gas medicine, and now an antihistimine. Does anyone have any idea or suggestions? I sure wish the tv show House was real, maybe then I could get some answers. I feel like he is slipping away from me,  I am devistated I cant help him. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much in advance. kjsmoma

This may be nothing but some of the symptoms that you are describing seem like they may be related to Wilson's disease.  I had researched this disease for a college project, otherwise I would know nothing about it.  It seems like it isn't a diagnosis that readily comes to mind.  Good luck.

Try this alternative and the son will notice the benefits in days.Drink warm water.
You need to help your body to build up your immune system. The breathing exercises - pranayam is a holistic approach creating extra oxygen supply in the body and will slowly help with the health problem.Do the pranayam to see the benefits.Build up your timing slowly and after two weeks at the suggested duration you will start to notice benefits.

Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose.Duration upto 5 minutes.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Anulom Vilom - Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 10 times
----
Only by doing you will benefit and will feel good that you can do something to help the body.Copy and print this to master the technique. This is  simplified pranayam for everyone and you do not have to go to classes to learn. This is for life unlike short term classes where you do it in the class then stop when classes are over.

I do agree that holistic medicine can be very helpful. This is new to  me. We have relatives sending Raike, and practicing Raike regularly. I am desperate, and will try almost anything at this point. Thank you for your suggestion.

Both of you do the exercises together, and the son will be inspired to keep doing it.It will be like playing and talking and will take the mind away. Both of you can talk about what you feel each day and compare notes. Also your stress will go down and you will sleep better.

Just wanted to check in to see how you are coping and how your son is feeling.  It is great to have a website like this, but it only really helps if you feel you are being heard.  So I just wanted you to know that I have been thinking about you and your son.
