I've had a skin tag for almost a month..it has not grown but the color has become darker. I am pretty cofident this is a skin tag because it is a piece of skin on my groin area. The color is almost a dark purple and i have become concerned. Should I be?

Hi,

Skin tags are skin colored and they have a stalk which may sometimes cause them to twist around. The twisting may cause irritation and some degree of injury in the area. Is the area irritated? Is there any redness or cuts in the area of the affected skin?

Is there associated pain?

I suggest that you have this assessed by a physician. This may be a mole or a filiform wart. Any change in the appearance of a skin lump or bump needs an evaluation. I do not want to cause further worrying. It is wise though to have this initially assessed so you have a baseline examination.
