My neck has been stiff for 2 weeks now!

by crid, May 08, 2008 02:44PM
For two weeks now, my neck has been stiff. I can move it fine, but its kind of like a headache on the lower part of the back of my head, going down through my neck. What could cause this? Could I be sleeping funny, or wrong? It started sometime last week and its still continuing this week, almost two weeks now. One day I took 1000mg of extra strength tylenol and it helped. Theres not much I can do, I'm only 15, but anyone know what could be causing this?

Could it be associated with my vision? I'm far-sighted and I noticed lately I've been straining my eyes. Could that add to it?

That is too much tylenol.  Don't do that again with out a doctor recommendation.
Try gentle neck stretches morning and night, Side to side and front and back, but be mindful to not let your head collapse to the back.  Do this by stretching your chin up while keeping  a fist behind your neck at the base of the skull.
Ask your parents if you can get your eyes checked to see if you need a new presciption.

Do some research at www.upCspine.com. Occipital headaches resulting from upper cervical (C1/C2) misalignment could cause similar pain and discomfort.
