Thyoid tissie regrowing>>

by Totie, May 08, 2008 04:00PM
I had a TT back in 1994. I had a CT Scan done this past Sunday, and my doctors nurse called today and told me the results. The reason for the CT Scan is because currently the left side of my neck under the chin is swollen and tender to the touch and it burns like *ELL. You can feel a lump there, even my primary doctor feels it. The swelling in my neck is noticeable to all. The only thing the CT Scan showed were lymph nodes, but did not appear to be swollen, and they found thyroid tissue. I had a Ultra Sound done about a month ago on the neck to see if i had thyroid tissue, and it came back negative. My question is, should i be concerned that they found thyroid tissue even though i am not suppose to have any. The neck swelling and pain only started about a month ago. I did leave my doctor a message about being concerned. I don't think she is concerned or thinks it is a problem. I think because my TSH have always been normal, she feels it is not the problem. Any ideas guys on what i should do?

Is this your old, stupid doctor, or a new doctor?

Your TT did not involve cancer. correct?

I don't know how concerned I would be about the regrowth of thyroid tissue, but I would be upset that the doctor is brushing off your complaint just because your thyroid levels are normal.

Obviously something is wrong and needs treating. It may be minor and transitory, but it is a medical issue that should be addressed.

No, this is the new doctor i left the old one for. To me all doctors are the same when it comes to treatment. About a month ago they did an MRI of the pelvis, they did find a 1" mass somewhere near the spine. They are unable to biopsy because of its location. My new dr. said, that most likely that is not causing any problems, i just laughed and shook my head. She nows my body best....>> She did however say she will not forget about the mass. I also have lesions in my throat area, possible inflammed lymph nodes, but according to her since all my levels are fine, they are not causing the pain in my neck....Like i said, they are all alike.....I go back to her on 5/28 for a follow up. I am almost at the point of just not going to dr. anymore..............
