Help!!!!

by gizmo1332, May 08, 2008 05:20PM
I have been having headaches and a very strange feeling - as if I am drunk for over a year now. Have been to 3 neurologists - MRI shows an 1.5cm abnormality in the right peripheal lobe near the gray white matter - 2 neurologists told me it could be a glioma but the 3rd one doesn't think so. Now I am getting pain in my lower back and legs, have no balance and also get a pins and needles feeling in my lower back and legs. I just seem to hurt all over lately.
I have had all kinds of bloodwork, spinal tap and cat scans and my most recent neurologist tells me that on physical exam they find abnormalities that they have never seen. Now they tell me there is something definitley going on but they don't know what it is and to come back in 6 months and see what else develops.
I need to find answers now - I need my life back and I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.
Any suggestions out there?

Hi.

I'm sorry to learn what you have been going through.  I myself may not be able to give you a good working explanation but I think your symptoms may be referable to that old abnormality found in your MRI.  I suggest you discuss with your doctors regarding presenting your case in a dilemma conference (or multidisciplinary conference) to find out the suggestions of other doctors or neurologists instead of just watchful waiting.  For now, I also suggest that you avoid stress as much as possible and maintain a positive outlook.  You can also ask your doctors regarding temporary measures for your symptoms if they can prescribe something.  I hope everything will become clear soon.  Regards and God bless.
