ALS....?

by Debbie0419, May 08, 2008 07:49PM
My husband who is 51 has been having problems with his hand and arm since January of this year. He has almost no muscle strength in his left arm. He can't hold his hand out straight without it curving alittle inward. He sometimes drops things because his hand is not functioning correctly. He went to a neurologist and had to go get a EMG test done. They had no answers. Then after that he went for a chest X-ray and a MRI. They came out fine. His neck and spine were ok.  Went for a 2nd opinion and had another EMG test done. That EMG doctor said to get another opinion. Both EMG  tests were puzzled. Neurologist sent him for blood work. The blood work came back that his antibodies weren't normal. So now we are waiting for detailed blood work to be ordered regarding his immune system. After that we have to go get a IVIG test done. His arm and hand have been getting worse. Today he was complaining about his left shoulder. They have not ruled out ALS.  In your opinion do you think he may have this?

Thanks
