Alternatives or Suggestions to My current prescription?

Few month ago i was diagnosed by my Omnipraction that i had symptoms of Depression.
I am current on Effexor (200gm), Clonazopan (.5gm), Apo-Zopiclone (7.5mg)
Effexor doesn;t seem to work ... i'm very bitter, always angry, i'm about to explode.
My psychologist mentioned i have extreem highs and lows which is a strong indicating of a bipolar-drepression.
The current medications are as follows:
Clonozopan i believe is for my anxiety which is okay, no complains there but the Apo-Zopiclone (7.5mg) , i'm stuck taking 5 or 6 or them just for these pills to work. otherwise, if i follow the instructions on the bottle it says; "Once a day before bed time". Well, i take it before bed time drink a glass of milk and try to sleep but all my senses are enhanced; so i can't sleep. i take 2 more, eat so carrots, maybe an apple, have a cigarette and go to sleep. But no, i'm fully awake? But i just took 3 sleeping pills. So, i take a forth. Is there any better medication out there.
In general, to help with sleep ( because my mind races at night and get awful thoughts ) and treating the bipolar-depression .. Anyrecomendation i can further discuss with my Doctor? Any input is greatly appreciated

P.S.: i did some research of my own but could i ask for something along the lines of Divalproex and/or carbamazepine?

carbamazapine/tegretol is ok but it is for severe mood swings i would try lamictal or seroquel first. also the tegretol will make the klonopin less effective to your anxiety could spike. i am no dr. but i was put on tegretol for a short period and it made my anxiety meds useless. I dont now what the other drug is but I can tell you seroquel will help you sleep and level you out so you dont get that feeling of wanting to explode trust me i am that person that flys off the handle easily
