Running & Shortness of Breath

by NeverDespair879, May 09, 2008 10:04AM
Hello,

I am 22, 5'10" year old male in good physical shape. My blood pressure is always normal, my blood work is too, I am just 4 pounds above my ideal weight (169 vs 165). My doctor listened to my heart and says it is good, no noises or something like that.

In the past 6 months I have been really working on improving my health. I have been dieting and eating high protein and complex carbs meals, 6 times a day (small meals). I eliminated all pop, alcohol from my diet. I only drink tea and water.

My problem started happening in the past 2 weeks. I started getting worn out really quick during my runs and undersizes. After I run...lets say a block my heart starts beating really fast and I feel like I am not getting enough air to my body (even though I am breathing well). This has been really bothering since I have also started to get chest pains. Some days it is better, some days it is worse.

What is happening to me? Please advise.

Sorry, I meant to say during my runs and exercises. I exercise about 4-5 times a week, 2-3 hours a day (lifting, cardio). And now that I am in better physical shape then I was 6 months ago, I feel like it is much harder to exercise!
