Sounds like you may have injured one or more of your ribs, rib cartilage, intercostal ligaments or muscles between the ribs.  It is also possible that you may have pleurisy, which is an infection of the lining of the lungs, called the pleura.  You will need to see your primary care physician and have a chest x-ray to sort this out.
