lump in eye

I have had a hard small lump below slightly below the tear duct area of my eye for a couple of months now. There has not been any pain and was not visible for at all for at least 3-4. Recently the area above the lump is starting to get reddish. I'm planning to go see a doctor but would like some advice on how serious this is? Or an idea what it is.

Odds are its not serious and that its a chalazion, inclusion or sebaceious cyst. BUT keep your appoitment with a Eye MD ophthalmologist.
