Signet ring cell lobular breast cancer

by guardians6, May 10, 2008 01:49AM
test information coming up in Japanese for breast cancer and some info coming out scary like angiolymphatic invasion present. I was placed in a study that tested the tumor cell's DNA and I  underwent CHemo ( Asriamycin and Cytoxin) 4 rounds 2007 with the standard 33 radiation treatments. I tried tamoxifen and obtained a DVT and now am om arimadex. Are these latter forms of treatment beneficial and 8% reaccurance anywhere in the body is this good?

Hi there.

The aromatase inhibitor arimidex is a hormonal therapy which carries a lesser risk of vascular problems such as DVT.  Hormonal treatment further lowers the recurrence rate of breast cancers by an additional 8% (at least) and even give a survival advantage.  These hormonal treatments are most appropriate for post-menopausal patients whose tumors stain positive for the Estrogen and/or Progesterone receptors.  I hope your treatment will be as unremarkable as possible.  Regards and God bless.
