blood in one breast

by sammie7, May 10, 2008 02:10AM
Yes for about a month now, if i squeeze my left breast or if i hit my arm with it, blood discharge comes out. I have never had this happen to me before. I have did self mammograms and found nothing. I have one child and that was done by c-section, no problems there. Now I am scaried that what if it does lead to breast cancer. Just the word cancer scares me. I mean do i see and regular doctor or a obgyn doctor? If anyone has experience the same please contact me. thanks

Hi.  Please see a doctor (an internist or an obgyn will do) as soon as possible to have yourself properly evaluated.  While a bloody nipple discharge may just indicate breast infection (mastitis), the possibility of malignancy cannot be dismissed at this point, and has to be thoroughly investigated.
