Protein in urine is a significant sign for renal diseases. Is there any red cells presented also? Do you have high bp?

4.82? What is that? What I meant was, do you have microscopic hematuria apart from your elevated protein level in urine?

I could be wrong, please correct me if I am. I think your slightly decreased GFR and the elevated level of protein indicate certain kidney damage. I don't know much about the enlarged prostate, but it shouldn't affect kidney function as far as I know.

Don't worry too much. It might not be a kidney problem, and if it is, it usually progresses very slowly, but do push your doctor to get more tests done.
