Hi 4 years ago i was seriously ill and a hiatus hernia was diagnosed,i had this repaired but this is unravelling and i have a weak sphincter and ibs which generally just makes me constipated.in the last 12 months i have experienced sharp pains in my upper abdomen and problems eating normal size meals and digestion, bloating .4 months ago i felt worse aching all over but mainly lower back and stomach,i was kept in hospital for 1 night and told my amylase was 139.since then a ct scan of the pancreas has showed normal but 2 further blood tests taken when i felt unwell have been 139.my stomach is large for my frame and i have gained weight,i have bouts of chronic fatigue and passing of thin stools in the last few weeks and passing moucous after bowel movement over the last year.i am at my wits end as i have no quality of life,i have also been diagnosed with a profound vitamin d deficiency and have taken my first lot of ergocalcipherol 5 weeks ago.please advise how i can get a get a definite diagnosis and who i need to see,i cannot go on like this and have suffered for too long, any pointers would be greatly appreciated..i have remained on metaclopramide and lansaprozole for 4 years ans also have gerd.incidentally my amylase has returned to normal in the last week and i actually feel better.

I have chronic pancreatits and you have similar symptoms. If you have high enzymes that usually means the pancreas is involved. Thin stools is usually a bowel. a blockage perhaps. And your stomach can stick out mine does. You need to see a gi doctor. They would be able to help you the most.
