Has the root canal treatment worked?

by Nouveau, May 10, 2008 05:04PM
Hi, I've recently had root canal treatment on one of my left upper teeth, however I am still noticing the 'death breathe'! When I rub the gum line it smells really bad and my breathe is not good. I'm using a range of the Corsydil products to help my teeth and gums. What do you think the problem is? Has the treatment worked?
Your answers would be most grateful as it is beginning to play on my mind every minute of the day, especially when I'm at work and in social situations.

It is possible that your root canal treatment is fine but that you may have gum disease that results in bad breath.  You should schedule for a cleaning.  Also, I notice in the forums that sometimes people are confused about root canal treatment versus a pulpectomy in which the pulpal tissue inside the tooth is removed but not filled.  This is done to relieve the pain but is not a long term treatment.  You may want to ask your dentist if he/she performed a root canal or a pulpectomy.
