Can't sleep!

by dogmansis, May 10, 2008 06:23PM
I was on xanax for years...since my bro killed himself in 2000.  Decided to stop it. I turned 50 at the end of March, my husband & I are separated, my baby (17) lives with him, the oldest is in college (A&M @ CorpusChristi).  I live in the hill country of Texas (N of San Antonio, W of Austin), no close neighbors.  I haven't slept in a week already. I've been trying to work outside in my flower beds & get some sunshine.  Also, my right foot swelled up...couldn't see my ankle at all!  What is happening to me??

Hi dogmansis, how are you doing? I do understand how difficult it may be to cope up with such stress and strain for long years without proper sleep. You are under severe stress and constant worries are keeping you off the sleep. You might be missing you family very much and hence need to see them. Consult your attending physician and get a sleep study done and also review of Alprazolam which you have been taking for years probably without regular follow up. Check your blood pressure and get evaluated. Try to meet your family and share your thoughts. Take care.
