I believe my wheezing got better instead of worse when I quit, but that's about the only thing that got better right away.  It took a while for everything else to fall into place.  

See what someone else might have to say, otherwise, of course, see your doc

How long have you been quit?  In any case, congratulations on quitting!!!!

The first 4 months of my quit were bad.....I had so many colds and sinus infections! After the 4th month I began feeling so much better. You didn't say how long you have been quit for so it's hard to know if the wheezing could possibly be from congestion, which is very common in the earlier stages of a quit. In any case, you are far better off not smoking then smoking so everything hereafter is for the positive. If it continues and you are still worried, go see your physician.
The last 3 years of smoking left me using Advair. I am happy to say that I don't need it any longer.
