quick question for my friend.

by ImHappyBeingMe, May 10, 2008 10:50PM
My friend Lela has about the same cycle as me. She is usually a few days ahead or after. Her af in April was light/med heavy for about 3/4 days. Since her af she has been having ewcm. She says she's had it about 2 weeks now. Her question is, Can you have ewcm for so long then ovulate? How long do you have ewcm during ovulation....Or may she be pregnant?

I had it after my AF and I ended up pregnant.. But I don't know what to tell her. Someone help me out.

I'd say, CM isn't really an accurate way of telling anything. It changes with so many things.

The best thing she can do is count back from her period 14 days (this is when most people ovulate), and mark it on a calendar then she'll have a rough idea when to aim their BD'ing the next month.

Sorry I can't be more help. Hope she gets her bfp soon x

yeah. I understand. She got it the day her at ended. I Believe mine started the day after.
She was wanting to know if anyone got a BFP after having ewcm right after AF. She doesn't know if she is ovulating or what. She has never had ewcm the day after her af. Let alone for 2 weeks. She informed me that today, it went back to creamy.

The last day of EWCM is the actual day you ovulate. But NikiNoo was also correct in saying she can find out her estimated ovulation time by subtracting 14 from how long her cycle is. However, even that is not accurate because you can ovulate sooner or later.

I got pregnant with my youngest daughter by checking EWCM!

Good luck to both of you. Keep BDing when you see the EWCM. And make sure you're not confusing semen for the EWCM (by wiping up really good after sex and not counting the first 1-2 times you use the restroom after sex).

so you can have ewcm for 2 weeks, the day my period ended and then finally ovulate? This is her friend Lela asking now..... :) I just wanted to know if it was possible to have the ewcm for 2 weeks before it was even time to ovulate.

she gave me her info so I can read myself.

You can have EWCM for any amount of time. The last day of it is the day you ovulate. But to be most accurate you should use a second method for determining ovulation (such as OPKs or BBT).

ok good.

To: Lela
I used ovulation detector kits for both my pregnancies. We tried 3 months with my first preg, then used OPK and caught straight away (4th month). And with this preg we tried for 2 months, then used OPK and caught straight away again (3rd month).

Maybe you could try them? Good luck whatever you do, hope you get your bfp soon!
