i have tender spots all over my body, even on my scalp. especially on my rib cage. these tender spots sometimes have little nodules under the skin. is this  connected with my fibromyalgia?

Hi there.

Yes.  Fibromyalgia can present with subcutaneous nodules that are exquisitely tender even with the lightest palpation.  This can migrate to other areas once tenderness resolve in one area.  These nodules can symmetrically involve either side of the body.  I also have fibromyalgia and it is important that we get a restorative-form of sleep.  This can be achieved by anti-depressant medications that can be taken before we sleep. I suggest you keep close follow up with your doctor so that changes can be monitored.  Regards and God bless.

thanks for the feedback...i've read up on anti depressants for sleep and pain..i suffer from terrible insomnia(for years) i've also had adverse effects from anti-depressants.. another problem is anti-inflamitories...thay all cause severe edema and raise my blood pressure extremely high and i can't go there, as i've already had a mini stroke(even lyrica causes this.  i've been on darvocet..(.the only medication that agrees with me) and doesn't fry my stomache...also muscle relaxers...i've been on this medication for four years, and as time is going by the pain is getting worse. any suggestions?? i've done pain clinics, phy. therapy, water yoga, water aerobics.. you name it, i've tried it. do you know anything about pain patches or pain pumps. i'm not worried about addiction, if i'm not addicted now i'll never be( i'm very careful) and besides i'll probably be on pain medication forever... i also have other pain issues. i'm open to any and all suggestions. all we sufferers have, is only each other!! thanks, zarkon
