are my syptoms alcohol related?

by pleasehelpme88, May 11, 2008 03:52AM
Hi all,
i have been an alchoholic for around a year or so- drinking anywhere between 5- 30 units a day.
i cant go a day without a drink- which is weird becuase i am suffering an eating disorder also and my only calorie intake comes from alcohol.
however i am having some issues and dont know whether they r a sign that my kidney/ liver is starting to strain under the alcohol consumption. I am bruising easily and also wake up with really sweaty legs in the middle of the night! its soooo weird!! please can someone give me some advice or explaination??
much appreciated

all of the alcohol coupled with the eating disorder no doubt contributes to ur symptoms.

if your looking for anxiety keep drinking...you'll need a drink to help the anxiety but when your not drinking the anxiety will get worse and worse..alcohol effects all kinds of stuff ....could be your platelets(sp) are messed up from drinking........my little sister had an eating disorder and it almost killed her... theres nothing like having an exercise program to help with the anxiety...try to stop drinking for 6 months and see if you feel better...i'm sure you will.....billy

seems to be a dubious trend these days. there are many articles you can google in regard to anorexia coupled with alcoholism. the bruises are an indication of liver involvement and if you are starving yourself you are stressing the liver to a point of no return. here is one link for you:

You should be at the doctors office asking these questions and having lab work done to see if your liver is okay along with your kidneys.  Then stop off at the counselors office.  If you want to just knock it all out in one fell swoop - check yourself into REHAB.  There are several places that service both alcholism and eating disorders all together.
Just a suggestion.....if you want help....
