chin implant

by scouters123, May 11, 2008 09:16AM
Hi, I just had a chin implant on monday (6 days ago) and I was told yesterday to go ahead and take the tape off of my chin in that it was irriating the skin on my chin, when I pulled it off, I was shocked, to say the least, my chin is way long...I am not sure if this is swelling, but the length from the bottom lip to the bottom of my chin is extremely longer than it was. I looks unproportioned and terrible. I still have no feeling on the left side of my chin and the left side of my lip, which I am sure is swelling, but the problem is that i do have feeling on the right side, and it is even with the left, does this mean that this will be the final result of the length of my chin? I didn't ask for a longer chin I asked for a prominent chin, what should I tell my surgeon when I go to see him? Should I be concerned, how can the length be affected? If this is swelling, how soon will it go down, seriously looks terrible, Signed, Jay Leno

At six days, it is much too early to evaluate the result of the procedure.  Yes, a significant amount of swelling is present at this time.  If your dissatisfaction is still present at six to eight weeks, then that would need to be discussed with your surgeon.
